Leonard J Corallo
President & Chief Operating Officer
PIERS Global Intelligence Solutions
Leonard J. Corallo is directly responsible for developing and executing the growth strategy for Commonwealth Business Media’s subsidiary, PIERS, the authoritative source for U.S. waterborne import-export trade information and business intelligence solutions for the maritime industry and commercial sectors.
Prior to assuming the leadership of PIERS, he served as Executive Vice President of the CBM subsidiary, responsible for U.S. and international sales, customer service, marketing and data operations. During this period, he was instrumental in transitioning the digital information products pioneered by PIERS in the ’80s and ’90s to the Web. He also increased PIERS trade database assets by creating and enlarging its footprint in strategic Central & South American, and Asia-Pacific markets.
In 1988, he was appointed Vice President, responsible for PIERS data operations, IT, and customer service. During his tenure as VP, Mr. Corallo was president of PIERS de México and PIERS Servicios, two PIERS subsidiaries in Mexico that he established in 1992 to bring Mexico’s waterborne trade information products to market in Mexico and the U.S.
He began his career at PIERS as manager, quality assurance and documentation, in 1984, when, at that time, the new data venture in trade information was still a division of the Journal of Commerce, Inc.
Prior to joining PIERS, Mr. Corallo developed and maintained the documentation, traffic and client divisions of F.W. Hartmann & Co., and Prudential Lines.
Mr. Corallo holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management and an M.B.A. from Fairleigh Dickinson University.
