2000
In October 2000, the company was founded and management led a buyout of Primedia Information's Directory Group.
2001
In November 2001, CBM acquired The Journal of Commerce Group from The Economist Group. Assets included magazines and PIERS.
2002
In May 2002, PIERS secured a major contract with the National Insurance Crime Bureau.
In July 2002, CBM acquired the assets of technology company Trade Inc. to enhance PIERS. The company also launched sales efforts in Asia.
In October 2002, CBM celebrated the 175th anniversary of The Journal of Commerce, introducing a new design and re-launching JoConline.com.
2003
In February 2003, PIERS brought new database systems on line.
In March 2003, PIERS doubled its monthly record production from 400,000 to almost 800,000, resulting in record sales in its Commercial market segment.
2004In January 2004, PIERS launched Homeland Security marketing efforts for its data.
In March 2004, CBM acquired the assets of Seaport Publications Group (formerly Compass Publishing) and firmly established itself in the custom publishing business for North American seaports.
In June 2004, PIERS launched Trade Intelligence to replace legacy CD products.
2005
In February 2005, CBM introduced its first live teleconference, about third-party confidential contracts, a very important industry topic. Three more teleconferences were conducted in FY 2005.
In March 2005, CBM acquired BACK Aviation Solutions and established a strong footprint in the commercial aviation market.
In April 2005, CBM's Conferences group launched its first China Trade & Logistics event.
2006
In January and February 2006, PIERS launched Trade Profiles and landed several major government contracts associated with port security initiatives. PIERS established sales channels in China with China Online and E-Port.
In May 2006, CBM launched the first European Breakbulk Conference.
In July 2006, CBM was acquired by
United Business Media plc, a global provider of news distribution and specialist information services with a market capitalization of more than $3 billion.
In October 2006, CBM launched the first Asia Maritime Conference and the first Automotive Maritime Logistics Conference.
In December 2006, CBM acquired Official Airline Guide Holdings Ltd.
2007
In January 2007, CBM acquired UK-based Aviation Industry Group Ltd. (AIG).
In June 2007, UBM launches the first Real Estate Logistics Forum.
In April 2007, CBM celebrated the 100th anniversary of Traffic World.
